What a wonderful find...the breakfast backstage tour. There were only 8 on this one and 300 stairs to negotiate. We did amazingly well but were ready for breakfast at 9:30 am. No pics allowed to be taking inside and I could not find any postcards but I took lots of pics of the outside. Some at odd angles. I love to play with my camera, especially with the telephoto, just to see what it can do.

Sydney AUSTRALIA
This was an accidental find. We were walking to The Rocks on St George St and decided to turn right onto this street and there it was - the Sydney Tower. Note the building to the left of the tower. It is only plastic covering a building being upgraded! Quite the camouflage.
Cairns on our city stroll
We stumbled upon this mural and it is a great example of Aboriginal art. Before breakfast we decided to walk the Cairns Promenade into the city centre - about 2 km away. It was a nice day, not sunny, but a flat walk with lots to explore and see. We eventually did find a great little hole in the wall. Breakfast was relatively cheap - $8.50 each including tea and coffee. Back at the Mecure Harbourside it would have cost $25 for the same breakfast and it would not have tasted half as good!!!! Well worth the walk.
more Alice Springs
This is such a great way to camouflage the garbage cans on the street. This one is in Todd Mall. Basically an outdoor tourist trap mall but you can find some awesome stuff here. You just have to look for it.
AUSTRALIA
We packed nine pairs of shoes, sandals, hiking boots and water shoes. Then I bought another pair of over-the-ankle hikers in Adelaide. I am so glad I did. The best hikers I have ever owned. Did not need the sandals or water shoes. Too Cold !!!!
AUSTRALIA
What an experience!! We were up at 5 am and dropped off at Uluru for sunrise. We were so cold while waiting. The desert is never warm at night. We were layered so later when the air heated up, we could take off a fleecy or hat or scarf...

HOME AGAIN
This is one of my favourite photos from the 1200 plus that we took on this trip. Our shadow at sunrise at Uluru (Ayres Rock) in the middle of Australia. We did the base walk around Uluru and actually touched the rock. Quite a thrill. Uluru is the largest monolith in the world. A monolith is one single piece of rock. We have a monolith right here is BC called The Chief at Squamish on the way to Whistler (2010 Olympics site).
We are home, back in Surrey BC catching up on the time change and sleep. How does it feel? Like a dream come true. The jet lag was not too bad this time. Just one day and I feel back to normal (whoever said I was normal??)
I have been sorting our souvenirs and need some help from someone. While we were in the middle of our trip in the outback from Adelaide to Alice Springs, I inadvertently deleted all the pics from my disc in my camera. I immediately pulled it out to save whatever I can and put in a new one. I did not take any more photos on this disc.
My question: does anyone know of a recovery program that I can use to retrieve my photos??
